Product:
My app will enable people to add items to their grocery list from the ease and convenience of their phone. Once they input a new item to the list, the app will give them the 3 closest stores that carry that item, ranked in order by the price offered at each store. It will highlight items that are currently on sale, and have a star next to items that currently have coupons available. If an item is starred, customers can click on the item to open the coupon bar code, which can be scanned right from the phone. People will also be able to check off each item to remove it from the list once they have added it to their cart to help keep them organized and keep them on track during their shopping trips. This app will be the ultimate shopping buddy, saving both time and money.

Target Market:
This product will target anyone and everyone who does their own or their family's weekly grocery shopping.

Competition:
There are other grocery list apps available, but none of them offer competitive pricing or coupons so this will have a competitive advantage because people like saving money.

Finances:
The app will cost about $35,000 to develop, but we will make that and more back through advertising and coupon costs from stores and by charging $1.99 for the app.

Chuck Pell: Great thought - tough in practice. I have 5 grocery apps, and they don't automate most of what I need. So, I don't use them. You have to have lots of smart time-saving features (read: don't make me type something in more than the first time; remember everything I've bought and WHERE, etc.)

Jeff Snell: I rated 3 stars because I like the comparison functionality and your thought out revenue model. HOWEVER, I believe the cost to develop will be triple estimates as the database integration coupled with the geo tagging database is not only a huge undertaking but one that changes constantly with pricing changes and new products.
